Fatal Horn Island swimming accident death of Jordan King

A man from South Mississippi has died following an unfortunate incident while swimming at Horn Island. According to Jackson County authorities, Jordan King, aged 29 and residing in Pascagoula, encountered difficulties near the western tip of the island on Sunday afternoon.

Eyewitnesses reported that they rescued Mr. King from the water and attempted to administer emergency CPR. Responders from the Department of Marine Resources provided assistance, transporting him back to the shore for transfer to a hospital via air ambulance. Regrettably, Mr. King passed away at the Ocean Springs Harbor.

The official cause of death has not yet been determined, although preliminary investigations suggest it was not due to drowning.
