The California Highway Patrol reported that on the 20th of August, one person was killed and two others sustained injuries in a vehicle collision at the junction of Live Oak Boulevard and Eager Road.
Around 1:50 p.m., officers from the CHP Yuba-Sutter division were sent to the scene, finding a Hyundai Elantra and a Honda Accord, both exhibiting considerable front-end damage. According to the authorities, the Hyundai car was obstructing the northbound lane of Live Oak Boulevard, while the Honda was located in the dirt/gravel area near the southwest corner of the intersection.
The individual driving the Honda was taken to Adventist Health and Rideout Hospital with only slight injuries. The driver of the Hyundai received minor harm and declined medical transport, according to the CHP.
Oldham, who was the right front passenger in the Hyundai, was taken to Rideout Hospital and passed away around 4:56 p.m. due to her injuries.
Initial investigation revealed that the Honda was proceeding southbound on Live Oak Boulevard, while the Hyundai was heading northbound on Live Oak Boulevard. Both were nearing the Eager Road intersection. The Hyundai driver attempted a left turn onto westbound Eager Road directly in front of the Honda, resulting in a direct head-on collision between the two vehicles.
