Deputy officers from the Burke County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a residence at 3105 NC 126 following a Friday report indicating a sudden medical emergency. Upon their arrival, the deputies found the deceased, whose identity was confirmed as Matthew Yury Roderick, a 22-year-old man, prompting the initiation of a homicide probe.

According to official statements, law enforcement has arrested two people in connection with this incident. The suspects, Chad Allen MacJarrett and Donaven James Purcell, face charges of second-degree murder. It has been reported that both individuals are currently held without bail and are scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
