Fatal Temecula car crash death of Yostena Sabet
A horrific collision on California’s 15 Freeway claimed the lives of four people on Saturday evening. A BMW vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic and caught fire, authorities reported.
The deadly incident happened around 9:30 pm in Temecula. According to the California Highway Patrol, the BMW driver lost control and crossed into the opposite lane. The car then collided with a white Nissan Sentra, which subsequently ignited.
Emergency responders found the BMW driver, an unidentified man in his 20s, severely injured. He was evacuated from the burning vehicle and taken to Inland Valley Medical Center. Tragically, four individuals did not survive the crash, including the occupants of the BMW and the driver of the Nissan.
Yostena Sabet, aged 22, her sibling Mina Sabet, who was 14, and Jacob Labib, who was 15, were passengers in the BMW. A family source confirmed Yostena and Mina had recently returned from a vacation before the accident. Jacob was described as Mina’s best friend.
The driver of the Nissan, identified as 36-year-old Nicholas Callans, succumbed to injuries before reaching the hospital. A 22-year-old passenger from Wildomar, also in the Nissan, was treated for serious injuries.
A GoFundMe campaign has been started to assist with funeral expenses. Over $24,000 has been raised in tribute to the victims. An investigation revealed no involvement of alcohol, but the cause of the initial driving incident remains under review.
