Fatal South Amherst car crash death of Brandon McKenna

Law enforcement officials from Ohio have confirmed the identity of the individual killed in a serious accident that caused a major interruption on State Route 113 in Lorain County. The incident occurred on Tuesday and brought traffic to a standstill in the South Amherst area.

Investigators from the Ohio State Highway Patrol report that the deceased, identified as 28-year-old Brandon McKenna from Elyria, was killed early in the morning hours. According to initial findings, McKenna was crossing State Route 113 in the eastern direction while mistakenly positioned on the western side of the road. He was subsequently involved in a collision with two motor vehicles.

The first vehicle to strike McKenna was a Ford Explorer, and another car, a Honda Civic, followed in the same path. Medical examiners declared him deceased at the scene without the need for further treatment.

The closure of State Route 113 spanned across several roads, from Baumhart Road to Leonard Street in South Amherst. Authorities kept the route closed for an extended period before finally reopening it to the public to ensure safety.

As of now, the Ohio State Highway Patrol is continuing to probe the incident to determine the full circumstances surrounding the fatality.
