Diego Gutierrez Mogollan dies in fatal Fresno County car crash

Fatal Fresno County car crash death of full name of deceased victim

The Fresno County Coroner has officially identified the man who lost his life in a collision that took place on Monday afternoon.

The California Highway Patrol reported responding to the incident at approximately 1:15 p.m. It involved a Hyundai Elantra colliding with a Freightliner semi-truck on North and Temperance avenues.

According to the CHP, the Hyundai Elantra was heading westbound on North Avenue as it approached the intersection with Temperance Avenue. Simultaneously, the eastbound Freightliner semi-truck was approaching the same North Avenue intersection.

The driver of the Hyundai Elantra attempted a left turn directly into the path of the large semi-truck. The resulting impact propelled both vehicles southeast towards an orange orchard located at the corner of the intersecting roads.

Coroner’s officials identified the Hyundai driver as 45-year-old Diego Gutierrez Mogollan from Sanger. He succumbed to his injuries at the accident scene.

The operator of the Freightliner semi-truck did not suffer any injuries as a result of the collision.
