Fatal Raleigh car crash death of Juan Carlos Barrera Aragon

A significant vehicular accident near Cedarhurst Drive on Falls of Neuse Road Monday night resulted in the death of one individual and left another person with serious injuries, authorities reported.

The incident occurred approximately at 8:30 p.m. and involved a direct impact between two motor vehicles. Police discovered damage to a Honda Accord and a Toyota Rav4 that were engaged in a collision. The Honda driver, identified as Juan Carlos Barrera Aragon, a 45-year-old male, was trapped within the vehicle and did not survive the incident, which was attributed to severe injuries. At the time of the crash, Aragon was alone in his car.

The Toyota driver, a female, was transported to a medical facility with significant injuries, and it was confirmed that there were no passengers in her vehicle.

Investigators stated that Aragon was heading north on Falls of Neuse Road and veered into the opposite lane, causing a head-on collision with the Toyota. Additionally, preliminary findings from the probe indicated the presence of a strong alcohol odor emanating from Aragon.
