Fatal Dublin Borough car crash death of Karen Bishop

Dublin Borough authorities have confirmed that the woman killed in Saturday’s vehicle collision is Karen Bishop, a 72-year-old resident known for her lifelong connection to the community and her service as a volunteer firefighter.

Initial reports from the Dublin Borough Police detail that emergency responders arrived at the scene located at the crossing of South Main Street and Maple Avenue shortly after 5 p.m. on Saturday. They attended to an incident involving a car striking a pedestrian. Regrettably, despite the efforts of medical personnel, the pedestrian, identified as Karen Bishop, was pronounced deceased at the location.

Mayor Christopher Hayes, when speaking with WFMZ-TV, described the driver involved in the incident as actively providing information to police and the Bucks County District Attorney’s Crash Investigation Unit. The official account indicates the vehicle operator attempted to turn left onto Maple Avenue and, during this maneuver, collided with Bishop, who was crossing the street.

Explanations from witnesses suggest the driver’s vehicle was turned around and driven back over the pedestrian after the initial impact, resulting in a serious head injury. The mayor noted that the driver was seen exiting the vehicle following this second maneuver.

During the interview, Hayes emphasized that the driver is fully cooperating with ongoing investigations and law enforcement processes.
