Law enforcement arrived on the scene at approximately 4 p.m. on the afternoon of August 17 at the specific location where they discovered the body of Antonio Lee Williams. The man, who was 42 years old, was found with injuries caused by gunfire, despite the immediate efforts of a bystander who performed basic life support measures.

Eyewitness accounts provided to investigators described the events leading up to the fatal incident. One individual stated that Williams was standing outside his automobile when an SUV drove alongside him and discharged its weapon, firing two times.
