Fatal South Dallas shooting death of Dagoverto Rodriguez
Law enforcement officials reported that an individual passed away tragically late on Sunday afternoon following a violent incident in the South Dallas area. Emergency responders were dispatched to the location, identified as the 1800 block of Jeffries Street, shortly before 5:10 p.m.
According to preliminary statements from authorities, the deceased individual was observed suffering gunshot wounds upon the officers’ arrival at the scene. Standard procedure dictated transporting the injured person to a nearby medical facility, but the injuries were ultimately too severe, resulting in the victim’s death later that day at the hospital.
Further investigation confirmed the identity of the deceased as Dagoverto Rodriguez through official channels administered by the Dallas County medical examiner’s office. Concurrently, the investigation led police to apprehend a suspect, identified as Charles Reeder, who is currently being held without bail at the Dallas County Jail facility. Charges filed against Reeder include a serious accusation of unlawfully causing death.
