ASHLI CRESPO and VANESSA OROZCO-CARBAGAS, two women, die in fatal Toms River car crash
Fatal Toms River car crash death of Ashli Crespo and Vanessa Orozco-Caras
Toms River authorities have confirmed the identities of the two women killed in a two-vehicle collision on Hooper Avenue the previous week, identifying them as local residents.
Prosecutors from the Ocean County office announced that 28-year-old Ashli Crespo, driving a Toyota RAV4, and 36-year-old Vanessa Orozco-Caras, a passenger in a Chevrolet Equinox, were both killed in the September 11th accident.
Investigators reported that the crash happened around 8:45 p.m. when a 46-year-old man driving the Equinox crossed the grass median and collided with Crespo’s SUV.
The impact caused the RAV4 to roll over onto its passenger side and stop at the corner of Fischer Boulevard.
The driver of the Equinox and a four-year-old boy inside the vehicle were hospitalized but have since been released, according to the prosecutor’s office.
The incident is still under investigation, and as of Thursday morning, no charges had been filed.
