Fatal Oneida County car crash death of Alan Gage

The Idaho State Police have officially identified the man killed in Saturday’s serious single-car accident on I-84, north of Snowville, as Alan Gage. He was 84 years old and from Seattle, Washington.

The law enforcement agency reported the collision occurred around 2:49 p.m. near the 269 mile marker on the highway.

Officials involved in the case explained that Gage was operating a 2004 Honda Pilot traveling eastbound. His vehicle crossed into the opposing lane of traffic, according to the investigation summary. He made a sudden correction, which led the sport utility vehicle to roll multiple times before coming to rest on the right shoulder of the interstate. Tragically, Gage did not survive the incident and died at the scene where it happened.

A female companion, identified as 82 years old, was also from Seattle. She was transported by ambulance to a nearby medical facility for treatment.

Emergency medical services from Snowville and fire department personnel from the same community provided initial aid and worked alongside state troopers at the accident location.

The Idaho State Police have confirmed they are continuing to probe the circumstances surrounding this deadly vehicular incident.
