ATAJA BANKS DIES IN SUSPECTED SHOOTING IN WASILLA, ALASKA

Fatal Wasilla shooting death of Ataja Banks

Alaska State Troopers have confirmed the discovery of Ataja Banks’s remains, located approximately two years after the Anchorage resident went missing. The 18-year-old woman’s body was found on September 4th in the Moose Meadows Road area of Wasilla.

The Alaska Bureau of Investigation is currently treating the death as a homicide and is actively pursuing leads. According to recent information, Banks had lost contact with her family around mid-September 2023 and was subsequently reported missing in October of that year. Initial reports from both the Anchorage Police Department and the troopers indicated she was last seen in the Mat-Su Valley region at the time of her disappearance.

Wasilla, situated within the Mat-Su Valley, is located roughly 45 miles northeast of Anchorage. The ongoing investigation continues to seek answers regarding the circumstances surrounding Banks’s death.
