Based on information provided by the California Highway Patrol, a severe accident took place on southbound I-5, located north of Valpredo Avenue, at approximately 3:10 a.m. on September 17, 2025.
Initial findings from CHP indicate that Vives was inside a 2023 Kia Sorento which had become stationary in the southbound lane. The reasons for this stop remained unclear at the time of the report.
Further details released by authorities stated that a 49-year-old male resident of White Water operated the 2025 International tractor-trailer involved in the accident.
This 49-year-old White Water man was driving his semi-truck on southbound I-5. Unable to prevent the collision, he rear-ended Vives’ stopped Kia Sorento.
Following the impact, both vehicles remained on the road and eventually came to a stop within the dirt median barrier separating the highway lanes.
Corrine Danielle Vives was pronounced deceased at the location where the incident occurred.
The driver of the large semi-truck involved in the accident escaped injury.
According to the California Highway Patrol’s preliminary assessment, neither alcohol nor drugs were considered contributing factors to the occurrence of this fatal traffic incident.
