Fatal Midvale shooting death of Eilleen Lyon and Terry Lyon

Law enforcement is conducting a probe following the discovery of two individuals deceased on Tuesday in Midvale. Unified Police reported that one of the victims’ employers reached out to authorities after they failed to report for work. Responding officers performed a welfare check at a residence located at 7500 S. Jefferson Street around 11:15 a.m. Officials noted that knocking and yelling for a response yielded no answer, prompting them to use a key to enter the property.

Inside the dwelling, officers identified the two deceased occupants: 65-year-old Eilleen Lyon and 63-year-old Terry Lyon. UPD officials stated that the preliminary assessment points towards a murder-suicide scenario. In an update, they revealed that it seems Terry Lyon shot Eilleen Lyon before turning the gun on himself.

Further information indicates there is no known history of domestic violence incidents at this residence involving the pair. It was also reported that both individuals resided in the home together. The nature of their relationship has not been officially disclosed.
