Fatal Vermilion County car crash death of Robert A. Onley

A late Tuesday accident at the intersection of Bowman Avenue and Poland Road claimed the lives of two people, according to Vermilion County Coroner Jane McFadden. The incident occurred in the early morning hours on Monday, September 22, 2025.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing. The Vermilion County Sheriff’s Office, Illinois State Police, and the Coroner’s office are examining the incident.

Autopsies have been scheduled, and the next of kin for both individuals have been notified, stated McFadden. Family notification preceded the release of the victims’ identities.

Limited information is available about any other person involved in the accident.

The crash happened at approximately 8:24 a.m. at the intersection of Bowman Avenue and Poland Road. One victim was a 37-year-old man from Danville. The other victim was a 56-year-old man from Covington, Indiana.
