The full name of the person who died was Kyle Cummings. His father, Justin Cummings, shared his grief recently, less than a week after the event. “My soul hurts,” Justin Cummings expressed. “He was such a beautiful person… We are thankful for the 25 years we got to spend with him.”

According to reports, Justin Cummings described his son as a Marine veteran, an artist, a musician, and a devout follower of Jesus. The father mentioned feeling his son’s presence even after the identification process. “I realized it wasn’t my son, but the vessel holding all his creativity, love, and compassion. He remains with me,” Justin Cummings shared. “When I retrieved his personal belongings, the only valuable item was a cross necklace. He wore it daily with pride. I gave it to him with the wish that he’d remember his roots. It bears a bullet graze but remains intact, and so does his impact on me.”

Investigators revealed that the fatal incident on September 21 involved a disagreement between Kyle Cummings and the father of his girlfriend’s child. According to police, the father of the child was wounded after a third party nearby fired a shot during the altercation. No further details regarding the shooting have been released by authorities, and an ongoing investigation is being conducted.
