Fatal Farmington Township car crash death of Demi Wisecarver

Clarion County authorities have confirmed the identity of the individual killed in the late night accident. The victim is identified as Demi Wisecarver, a 67-year-old resident of Zanesville, Ohio. According to the official investigation led by the county’s Coroner, Dan Shingledecker, the cause of Mr. Wisecarver’s death was determined to be accidental blunt force trauma.

The collision transpired on Thursday, the 25th of September, at approximately 10:54 p.m. The location was State Route 66, specifically about seven-tenths of a mile north of the junction with Route 36 in Leeper. State Police provided the preliminary report detailing the incident.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene following reports of the crash. Police indicated that a 2016 model Freightliner Cascadia, traveling southbound on the highway, had departed the road’s western edge for unexplained reasons. After leaving the roadway, the vehicle moved a short distance before impacting a culvert structure. The driver, later identified as Mr. Wisecarver, was not secured by a seatbelt during the incident.

The narrative continues as the vehicle, still occupied by a front passenger who was also ejected during the excursion, rolled an additional 56 feet after striking the culvert. Further investigation revealed the Cascadia then impacted a telephone pole support wire, followed by another 90 feet until the wreckage finally stopped.

The authorities involved in the incident included the Farmington Township Fire Department, local emergency medical services via Clarion EMS, and Minich’s Towing company, which assisted with the scene management and eventual vehicle removal. The other individual inside the truck sustained significant injuries and was transported by air ambulance to the Penn Highlands DuBois medical facility. The identity of this passenger has not been officially released.
