Public safety officials in Albemarle County confirmed Sunday that 83-year-old James Tennant of Lynchburg is the motorcyclist killed Friday in a serious one-car accident.

Emergency responders from the Albemarle County Police and Fire Rescue services arrived at Monacan Trail Road near Covesville Lane shortly after 2 p.m. Friday for a motorcycle collision. Tennant, the rider, was pronounced dead at the scene.
