Fatal Baltimore hotel incident death of Kanaiyah Ward

A 16-year-old girl, under the care of the Maryland Department of Human Services, was discovered deceased inside a Baltimore hotel Monday. Officials reported Kanaiyah Ward’s body was located at the Residence Inn by Marriott situated in the 800 block of North Wolfe Street. No indications of criminal activity or physical harm were detected regarding the young woman’s body.

Her body was transported to the medical examiner’s office for official determination of the cause of death. Police characterized Ward’s demise as questionable. Toxicology results could require several months to become available.
