Fatal Haleiwa car crash death of Koali Denning-Ring

The Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Office formally identified the deceased individual as Koali Denning-Ring, a 21-year-old man from the Ewa Beach area. The official determination regarding his death stated that multiple impacts from blunt objects were the direct causes of his fatal injuries, resulting from the collision.

The Honolulu Police Department confirmed that the manner of the deceased man’s death was classified as an unintentional accident. According to police reports, the incident began when a 58-year-old driver, moving in the opposite direction, lost control. This driver first crossed into the southbound lane, striking another vehicle before the unavoidable head-on collision with Denning-Ring’s vehicle occurred.

Current investigations by law enforcement have not yet established whether factors such as excessive speed, the influence of drugs, or the consumption of alcohol played any role in escalating the risk for this tragic traffic incident.

This unfortunate event represents the 65th traffic-related fatality recorded on Oahu during the current calendar year.
