Fatal Smithville car crash death of Moody

According to local law enforcement, a collision occurred when a pickup truck disregarded traffic signals and collided with another vehicle. This incident transpired on Smithville’s roadways. The white car was heading east along Third Street when the collision happened. The two vehicles subsequently entered the Domino’s parking lot located at the corner intersection. Within the parking area, the moving vehicles struck a parked car, causing it to be pushed into the building structure. The parked automobile ended up inside the walk-in cooler or freezer section of Domino’s, according to police reports.

The individual operating the white car, later confirmed to be Moody, was pronounced deceased at the scene. A 25-year-old female occupant in the passenger seat of the white car suffered only minor injuries. The driver of the pickup truck, a 33-year-old male, received serious but non-critical injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital. No individuals inside the Domino’s establishment reported injuries, and there were no occupants in the vehicle that was struck.

During the ongoing investigation at the scene, officers observed an unknown vehicle attempting to bypass police tape by driving over a curb. The driver of that vehicle was apprehended and charged with Operating a Vehicle Impaired (OVI). The initial crash investigation continues, with police focusing on potential causes including impaired operation and speeding.
