Fatal Pontiac car crash death of Nancy C. Benedict

A 70-year-old woman from Pontiac has been identified as the victim of a fatal two-vehicle collision reported on Thursday morning.

The Livingston County Coroner, Michael Renner, announced that Nancy C. Benedict was declared deceased at 9:56 a.m. Thursday at OSF HealthCare St. James Medical Center.

The Pontiac police and fire departments were sent to the intersection of West Reynolds Street and Walmart Drive around 9:16 a.m. on Thursday, as reported by the coroner’s office.

Officials state that the driver of a Dodge pickup truck, heading eastbound on Reynolds Street, collided with the vehicle being operated by Benedict, specifically on the driver’s side.

Both cars suffered significant damage and ended up stopped within the intersection.
