Fatal Valdosta shooting death of Tychicus Armondo Deshazer
In the southern area of Georgia, law enforcement ended a man’s life on Thursday after he began firing at cars outside a school meant for picking up children. According to a Georgia Bureau of Investigation statement issued Friday, an officer noticed gunfire and spotted a person entering the grounds of S.L. Mason Elementary School. Authorities then approached and fatally shot a 25-year-old local, identified as Tychicus Armondo Deshazer.
Paramedics provided emergency care at the scene, but Deshazer passed away before receiving hospital treatment. No one else sustained harm. The reasons for Deshazer’s actions at the school, which enrolled nearly 900 students a year prior, were not given by investigators. School leaders quickly sent buses to take students already there and directed others waiting for rides home to go inside, placing the institution on alert. The children involved were later returned to their parents.
