Illinois State Police are examining the incident after discovering a man deceased inside his East St. Louis home from a stabbing wound on a Friday morning. Officials with St. Clair County Coroner Calvin Dye Sr. have confirmed the identity of the deceased as Van T. Perry, who was 67 years old and lived in the 6900 block of Church Lane. Dye announced that Perry was pronounced dead at the location at 10:22 a.m. and that the fatality resulted from the injuries sustained from the stabbing.
