Fatal Watford City car crash death of Hannah Kocher
On Sunday, September 28th, the authorities officially confirmed the identity of the individual who died in the traffic incident occurring in Watford City. This female victim, identified as Hannah Kocher, was 25 years old. Tragically, she was not the only fatality; a young child, aged five, also perished in the same event. The details from the North Dakota Highway Patrol indicate that the collision occurred at approximately 8:30 in the morning at the junction where Highway 85 meets 23rd Street Northwest, which is located to the south of Watford City.
Further investigation by the patrol revealed that Jacob Shepard, who was 25 at the time, was operating a 2013 Ford Fusion. He was heading south on Highway 85 and was approaching the intersection. At the same moment, Mickey Gramley, aged 41, was in control of a 2006 Peterbilt truck. He was traveling east on 23rd Street Northwest. The patrol’s report stated that Gramley ignored a stop sign, leading to a T-bolt type collision that impacted the side of the Ford Fusion where passengers were seated. Both vehicles ended up in a ditch located in the southeast part of the intersection.
Medical personnel pronounced both Hannah Kocher and the child deceased at the scene. Jacob Shepard, the driver of the Ford Fusion, suffered serious injuries and was transported by helicopter to a medical facility in Bismarck for treatment. Gramley remained at the location without injury, and it is noted that all individuals involved were buckled into their seats at the moment of the crash.
Currently, the possibility of filing charges against both Gramley and Shepard is being examined by the relevant authorities.
