According to findings by Richland County Coroner Naida Rutherford, the individual killed in a fatal Irmo incident on Sunday morning has been identified as 37-year-old Rachel Branham. The fatal shooting occurred around 1:15 a.m. on Sunday, specifically the 28th of September, 2025, at a place indicated by Forest Walk Court, which is situated off Broad River Road.

Upon arriving at the location, law enforcement personnel from the Richland County Sheriff’s Department initially encountered a man in the vicinity. This man reported suffering from an injury resulting from a gunshot to his upper body region. He was transported to a nearby medical facility for medical attention, during which time he provided information to the deputies that helped them locate the scene.

When the deputies subsequently reached the specific residence, they found Keith Bagley, who is 65 years old, outdoors on the front porch area. He was observed to be under the influence of alcohol at the time of their arrival. Inside the premises, investigators located Branham, who had sustained a gunshot wound. Medical examiners determined that she did not survive the injuries and pronounced her dead at the scene.

It has been reported by the authorities that Branham and Bagley, along with another individual, were familiar with each other. However, no further details regarding the events preceding the fatal Irmo shooting have been confirmed or released. Following this discovery, Bagley was taken into custody and formally charged with offenses including murder, an attempt to murder, and two separate charges associated with the possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.
