Fatal Sugar Land shooting death of Sherry Perrault.
Law enforcement officials reported that a domestic conflict escalated into a widespread shooting incident on Wednesday, extending across two urban areas and resulting in the deaths of four people. Around the midday hour, authorities stated that Sherry Perrault’s vehicle collided with the roadside at Dairy Ashford in Sugar Land. It is believed that she was the victim of gunfire and perished at the location. Investigators have identified William Lewis, a man with a history of intermittent involvement with Perrault, as the prime suspect.
Following Perrault’s death, investigators believe Lewis drove to a body shop situated at 13330 Fondren in Southwest Houston. Sources close to the business owner indicated to ABC13 that Lewis had periodically sought car repair services there. Police noted that on Wednesday, Lewis appeared, quarreled with the shop’s proprietor, and subsequently shot the individual.
Eyewitnesses described how several workers from nearby auto shops emerged to witness the disturbance. One person was filming the event with a smartphone. According to these accounts, Lewis’s fury shifted towards the onlookers. Several staff members informed ABC13 that Lewis dashed across the street and began firing multiple shots. As the workers sought safety by retreating, the bullets struck the person recording the scene, leading to his death.
According to police statements, after causing the deaths of three people, Lewis drove a short distance to the 8000 block of Creekbend, which is near his familial dwelling, and ended his own life. Lewis’s relatives refused to grant an interview for television on Thursday.
Both Sugar Land and Houston police divisions are examining all three shooting locations, but as of now, no clear reason has been determined for Lewis’s actions, which included the deaths of three others before he took his own life.
