Fatal Harvey car crash death of Mark Mears
The North Dakota Highway Patrol confirmed the identity of the individual who passed away on Friday, October 31, in a serious vehicle collision. According to an official statement released by the patrol, Mark Mears, a 47-year-old Harvey resident, was driving a 2020 Nissan Titan eastbound on 29th Street Northeast at approximately 12:53 p.m. This location is about two miles northeast of the city. A 2025 Case 9260 combine, being operated by 23-year-old Ethan Arnold from Harvey, was moving southbound on 39th Avenue Northeast at the time of the incident.
The investigation revealed that neither driver was wearing a seatbelt during the collision at an uncontrolled intersection. The accident, described as a T-bone crash, resulted in Mears’ death at the scene, while Arnold remained unharmed.
Local authorities, including the Highway Patrol, the Wells County Sheriff’s Office, the Harvey Fire Department, and Harvey Ambulance, provided assistance at the scene. Harvey is situated approximately 73 miles southeast of Minot.
