Fatal St. Cloud shooting death of Antonio Carl Harris Jr.
A formal accusation was submitted on Friday, charging 27-year-old Kelisha Jason Walton II with supporting a second-degree murder plot. This alleged crime was tied to a fatal shooting that took place on the 700 block of 6th Avenue South in St. Cloud earlier this year.
Law enforcement personnel from St. Cloud and Sartell, along with county officials and state agencies, arrived shortly before dawn after receiving reports about gunfire and a potential shooting. Upon their arrival, they found 34-year-old Antonio Carl Harris Jr. lifeless on the ground, where emergency medical procedures were already underway. Despite these efforts, officials later confirmed his death at the scene.
An examination by the regional medical authority confirmed it was a killing, highlighting several gunshot wounds affecting different parts of the body. Further reports indicated that two other individuals were also injured during the incident.
According to ongoing investigations, the shooting was linked to a past stabbing incident that happened months earlier. One of the individuals connected to that stabbing, identified as Deionte Jaewon Parker, was found guilty in court in March for promoting the same fatal act. There are indications that Walton is connected to Parker through family ties.
Security camera footage obtained from a nearby gas station showed Parker, accompanied by Walton and another person, moving together near the area shortly before the incident. A specific time marker from the gas station video placed Walton near a fueling station, with his clothing suggesting he had made a modification to a weapon component.
Eyewitness accounts relayed to investigators that a confrontation occurred at a nearby residence, escalating when Parker aimed a handgun at one of the men involved in the previous attack, with Walton positioned nearby. Shortly after, shots were heard outside the home. Multiple people who were present pointed to Parker as being involved in the firing and noted that several firearms were used.
A security camera system captured footage of a man matching Walton’s appearance fleeing the location at a later time, exhibiting actions consistent with handling a weapon.
Tests performed by the state crime lab confirmed that the bullets and shell casings found at the crime scene matched those from a specific handgun. This weapon, which was eventually located in an empty yard, had been registered to Walton. Data from Walton’s personal devices also placed him in the vicinity shortly after the incident.
Following his capture, Walton is currently being held. He could face a sentence of up to four decades if found guilty on the charges against him.
