Fatal Lancaster shooting death of Lance Corporal Tevon Wade
A young Marine, Lance Corporal Tevon Wade, has died following injuries sustained in a shooting incident in Lancaster, California. Wade, who was nineteen years old and originally from Rosamond, was connected to Belize.
The fatal shooting occurred during a Halloween gathering at a vacant commercial building in the city’s West Avenue I area, near Division Street. Emergency services were dispatched to the 100 block of West Avenue I around 12:45 a.m. on Saturday. Upon their arrival, deputies discovered Lance Corporal Wade with serious gunshot injuries affecting his upper body. Medical personnel pronounced him dead at the scene, with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department reporting the incident.
Investigators state that the fatal shooting was linked to a physical altercation that started during the Halloween event. According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the victim was outside the building when the fatal shots were fired by an unidentified individual. This suspect then escaped the scene in an undetermined direction. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office has since confirmed the cause of death as multiple gunshot wounds and has classified the incident as a homicide investigation.
Following the tragic event, friends and colleagues from the Marine Corps have expressed their condolences. Tributes highlight Tevon Wade’s character, describing him as a dedicated and compassionate service member. In an effort to assist the family, a fundraising page titled “Support LCpl Wade’s Family During This Loss” was set up by Justin Calderon. Calderon, identified as a fellow Marine, shared a statement about Wade, expressing sorrow over his death and offering supportive thoughts.
