Kevin Stroner, 56, an Atlanta Police officer, and 44-year-old Moriah Cardona were found dead inside a home near Piedmont Park in the Virginia-Highland neighborhood of Atlanta, authorities reported. The victims were discovered at 618 Cooledge Avenue during a welfare check conducted around 4 p.m.

Officers confirmed that no one else was present in the residence. The relationship between Stroner and Cardona has not been disclosed. A section of Cooledge Avenue was closed as investigators worked at the scene.

The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office is leading the investigation to determine the cause of death. The Atlanta Police Department stated that the incident is considered isolated and that no suspects are being sought. Support services have been provided to officers affected by the tragedy.
