Fatal Bexar County, Texas shooting death of Camila Mendoza Olmos – Obituary

Authorities in Bexar County have confirmed that the body found last week belongs to 19-year-old Camila Mendoza Olmos, who had been reported missing on Christmas Eve. Officials said the Medical Examiner determined her cause of death as a gunshot wound to the head and ruled it a suicide.

Olmos was last seen on the morning of December 24 when she went for a routine walk near her home. Family members grew concerned when she did not return, and surveillance footage captured someone believed to be Olmos inspecting her vehicle before walking away. Her car remained at the residence.

On December 30, during an open-field search in the 10000 block of FM 1560, just a few hundred yards from her home, a body matching Olmos’ description was discovered around 4:45 p.m. in an area of tall grass at Burning Bush Landscaping Company. Investigators reported that a firearm was located near the body.

Authorities continue to piece together the timeline surrounding Olmos’ disappearance, releasing dashcam footage from a passing motorist that showed a person matching her description walking northbound on Wildhorse Parkway on the morning she went missing.
