Weaver, an avid hiker, had completed the eight-mile trail more than 130 times, making it a regular part of his routine. Known for encouraging persistence and staying active, he often hiked alone but was open to walking alongside fellow hikers he met on the trail.
A lifelong enthusiast, Weaver first developed his love for hiking as a Boy Scout, earning merit badges for his outdoor activities. Though he took a hiatus during adulthood, he returned to hiking after retirement, gradually increasing the distance and frequency of his walks.
Friends and fellow hikers remember him for his commitment to staying active, his friendly nature, and his simple advice: persistence and a good pair of shoes are key. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding his death on the trail.
