Fatal Frisco homicide death of Griselda Lopez Amarilis – Obituary

Griselda Lopez Amarilis, 20, was found dead earlier this week in a Frisco residence, authorities confirmed. Summit County Coroner Amber Flenniken identified Amarilis, who was reportedly the girlfriend of the suspect and had previously been listed as a victim in a separate criminal case involving him.

Frisco police arrested 19-year-old Luis Antonio Mendez-Hernandez on Monday, Dec. 29, after responding to a medical emergency call at the residence just after midnight. Mendez-Hernandez is facing charges including first-degree murder, second-degree murder, and tampering with a body.

During a Dec. 30 advisement hearing, Summit County Judge Reed Owens found probable cause to move forward with the case and set bail at $5 million cash surety. The investigation into Amarilis’ death is ongoing.
