Fatal Shreveport car crash death of Shanequia Johnson – Obituary

Shanequia Johnson, a 29-year-old woman, was identified as the victim who lost her life after being struck by a vehicle on North Hearne Avenue in Shreveport, according to the Caddo Parish Coroner’s Office.

Authorities said Johnson was walking along the 1600 block of North Hearne Avenue near a McDonald’s restaurant when the incident occurred around 6:30 a.m. on December 26, the day after Christmas. Police officers arriving at the scene confirmed that she had been hit by a car.

The Shreveport Fire Department responded quickly and attempted to provide emergency medical care, but Johnson succumbed to her injuries at the scene.

Investigators determined that a Nissan traveling northbound in the outer lane struck Johnson as she walked along the roadway. Officials noted that visibility was poor at the time, as the area was dark with limited lighting.

The vehicle involved was seized and transported to Shreveport Central Storage as part of the investigation. The driver was also taken to a hospital to provide a voluntary blood sample for testing.

The Caddo Parish Coroner’s Office took custody of Johnson’s body, and the investigation into the fatal crash remains ongoing.
