Terry L. Wensel Sr., 66, of Strattanville, Pennsylvania, died after being struck by a truck in a New Year’s Day accident, authorities confirmed.

Clarion County Coroner Dan Shingledecker reported that Wensel sustained blunt force injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:45 p.m. on Thursday, January 1. The accident occurred around 11:10 a.m. near the intersection of U.S. Route 322 and C-L School Road, prompting emergency responders to the location after receiving reports of a man struck by a vehicle.

Responding agencies included the Pennsylvania State Police in Clarion, the Strattanville Volunteer Fire Company, and Clarion Hospital Ambulance. While STAT MedEvac and Clarion Fire & Hose Company No. 1 were initially dispatched, they were later canceled.

The Pennsylvania State Police are leading the investigation, and a full report detailing the circumstances of the crash is expected to be released.
