Fatal Bexar County shooting death of Kyle Wayne Parnell – Obituary
Kyle Wayne Parnell, 35, was shot and killed outside a North Side gas station in Bexar County, Texas, authorities confirmed.
The incident occurred around 8 p.m. on December 16 at a 7-Eleven on Vance Jackson Road. Officers responding to the scene found Parnell inside the store with two gunshot wounds. He was transported to a hospital but was pronounced dead that evening. The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office ruled the death a homicide caused by gunshot wounds.
According to witness reports, one person saw two gunshots and a vehicle fleeing the scene, identifying the driver as a long-bearded man wearing a beanie. Another witness heard gunfire and recalled Parnell running toward him, expressing shock that he had been shot. Surveillance video captured a gray Toyota Tundra at the pumps, with a gun discharged from the passenger side before Parnell entered the convenience store.
Authorities traced the Tundra to a Dec. 14 vehicle theft linked to Albert James Stevens, 32, who was later arrested by Universal City police on Dec. 17. Officers found Stevens with a firearm, apparent blood stains on his clothing, and shell casings inside the truck matching the weapon used in the shooting. Stevens has declined to provide a statement to investigators, and evidence including clothing and spent casings was collected.
