Benjamin Muldoon, a 29-year-old resident of Northfield, lost his life following a traffic collision on Friday in Northbrook. The incident occurred in the 500 block of Voltz Road, where authorities were dispatched at approximately 4:50 p.m.

Police arrived to find a severe crash scene and confirmed that the driver had died. The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office later identified the victim as Benjamin Muldoon.

Investigators from the NORTAF Major Crash Assistance Team were called in to examine the circumstances surrounding the collision. While the investigation was underway, officials urged drivers to steer clear of the area to allow crews to work safely.

The cause of the crash has not been released as the investigation continues.
