Columbus, Ohio Woman Sharon Sakoulos Arrested in Franklin County for Murder of 3-Year-Old Daughter

COLUMBUS, OHIO — Sharon Sakoulos, a 41-year-old resident of Columbus, was arrested in Franklin County after allegedly killing her 3-year-old daughter on New Year’s Eve.

According to Columbus police, officers found Cassidy Sakoulos unresponsive at the scene. Despite efforts by first responders to revive her, the child did not survive. Authorities say Sharon Sakoulos admitted to detectives that she put a plastic bag over her daughter’s head with the intent to kill her.

Sakoulos was transported to the Franklin County Jail and appeared in court Friday, where a judge set her bond at $2 million. She is currently facing charges of murder related to the incident.
