Fatal Henrico, Virginia car crash death of Barbara Ann Jones – Obituary

Barbara Ann Jones, 62, of Henrico, was killed after being struck by a vehicle in the Near West End on December 30, according to Henrico Police.

The deadly incident occurred just before 6 p.m. at the intersection of Glenside Drive and Inglewood Street. Investigators said Jones was crossing the northbound lanes of Glenside Drive alongside another man when a Hyundai Santa Fe approached the intersection.

Police stated that the driver attempted to slow down and swerved in an effort to avoid the pedestrians, but the vehicle ultimately struck Jones. She suffered fatal injuries as a result of the collision.

Authorities confirmed that the driver remained at the scene following the crash and is fully cooperating with the ongoing investigation. No charges have been announced as police continue to review the circumstances surrounding the incident.
