Authorities in Los Angeles County have released the identity of a young man who lost his life in a single-vehicle collision in Lancaster. The incident occurred early Thursday morning in the Antelope Valley area.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash was reported just before 6:55 a.m. near 170th Street East, north of Avenue P. Investigators said a 2004 Chevrolet was traveling in the area when it unexpectedly left the roadway for reasons that remain under investigation.
The vehicle struck a utility pole with significant force, causing fatal injuries to the driver. Paramedics arrived at the scene and pronounced the driver deceased.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as 21-year-old Emmanuel Juarez. Officials stated that he was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and believe alcohol may have played a role in the incident.
CHP officials emphasized the importance of seat belt use and proper restraint for all occupants, noting that such measures can be lifesaving. The collision remains under investigation, and anyone with information has been asked to contact the CHP Antelope Valley Area office.
