Jeremy Z. Dandridge, a 35-year-old man, was killed in a shooting Saturday night in downtown Decatur, Illinois, according to Decatur police. The incident occurred just before 9 p.m. in the 200 block of North Church Street.

Police reported finding Dandridge with gunshot wounds at the scene. He was transported to a local hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. A second man, 23, was also shot multiple times and taken to the hospital in a private vehicle. Authorities have not released the younger man’s condition and it remains unclear whether the two men knew each other.

The shooting took place in a parking area behind Hot Shots Bar and Grill and Downtown Cafe, adjacent to the former Decatur Club building. Decatur Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division is leading the investigation, gathering evidence, reviewing nearby surveillance footage, and interviewing witnesses.

No arrests have been made, and police are asking anyone with information to contact them or submit an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers at 217-423-8477.
