Fatal Alexander City shooting death of Jarryl Slaughter – Obituary

Jarryl Slaughter, 29, of Wadley, Alabama, was killed in a shooting at the Parkway Apartments in Alexander City on January 1, 2026. Police responded around 7:40 p.m. after reports of a man found in the parking lot with an apparent gunshot wound.

Slaughter was transported to a local hospital but was pronounced dead. Authorities have not made any arrests, and the investigation into the circumstances of his death is ongoing.
