Fatal Black Hawk County, Iowa car crash death of Ciara Crisman – Obituary
Ciara Crisman, a 15-year-old from Waterloo, lost her life in a serious traffic collision involving a semi-truck and a passenger vehicle in Black Hawk County. The crash occurred Tuesday morning at the intersection of Canfield Road and Independence Avenue.
Emergency crews were called to the scene at approximately 7:43 a.m. after reports of a collision at the rural intersection. According to investigators, the passenger vehicle was traveling east on Independence Avenue when it entered the path of a semi-truck heading south on Canfield Road.
The impact caused both the semi and the car to leave the roadway, eventually coming to rest in a ditch on the southeast side of the intersection. Ciara Crisman was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.
The driver of the semi-truck was not hurt. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.
