Michaela Marie Bullard, 32, of Maxton, died Tuesday morning after being struck by a car on a private road near N.C. Highway 130 in Robeson County. Authorities report that Bullard was lying in the roadway when she was hit, and she was transported to UNC Health Southeastern in Lumberton, where she later died.

The N.C. Highway Patrol stated that the driver was restrained, speed was not a factor, and impairment is not suspected. Bullard was not wearing reflective clothing at the time of the incident. Troopers continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.
