Fatal Moscow crash death of Deirdre Krigbaum – Obituary
A tragic three-car crash on U.S. Highway 95 north of Moscow, Idaho, on January 7, 2026, claimed the life of 69-year-old Deirdre Krigbaum from Palouse, Washington. Krigbaum was driving a 2010 Toyota Venza east on State Highway 66 when she turned onto Highway 95 south of Viola. A semi-truck, hauling cargo southbound on the highway, swerved to avoid striking the Toyota, but the truck’s trailer collided with the Toyota, causing it to lose control.
The Toyota struck the guardrail on the southbound shoulder before careening into northbound traffic and colliding head-on with a 2022 Ram 2500 pickup. Despite wearing her seatbelt, Krigbaum sustained traumatic head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by Latah County Coroner Cathy Mabbutt.
The semi-truck driver, a 56-year-old man from Ferdinand, Idaho, was uninjured, while the driver of the Ram, a 57-year-old man from Otis Orchards, Washington, suffered severe injuries and was airlifted to a hospital. The highway was closed for approximately 4½ hours while authorities investigated.
