EAGLE MOUNTAIN — Authorities have identified Jack Wilcoxon, 34, as the victim of a deadly crash involving a Utah Highway Patrol trooper on January 7. The incident occurred around 9:40 p.m. near Lake Mountain Road and Pole Canyon Boulevard. According to the Utah County Sheriff’s Office, Wilcoxon was walking with a woman when he was struck by the trooper’s vehicle. Neither the woman nor the officer sustained injuries in the accident.
The trooper involved was on duty but in a nonemergency capacity at the time of the crash. The Utah County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation into the incident, with assistance from the Utah Department of Public Safety’s Officer-Involved Critical Incident Protocol Team.
