Coleman was driving along Central Freeway in Wichita Falls, in the 2009 model of the GMC Sierra truck, red in color.
He suffered a tire blowout
Around the area of Maurine Street, while traveling north on Central, the Sierra suffered a tire blowout. There are no available reports about how fast the vehicle was going when this occurred.
Crashing into the concrete median
Coleman lost control of the truck following the tire failure. It veered into the center where it struck the concrete median. The impact sent it off road, cutting across multiple lanes of travel.
Striking a tree
After hitting the median and going off-road, the the truck crashed into a tree and came to an immediate stop. The impact caused the truck to start smoking.
The truck Catching on fire
Witnesses rushed to pull an unconscious Coleman out of the smoking truck fearing it would ignite.
Shortly after retrieving him, the truck burst into flames. He would later be pronounced dead at a local hospital.
The crash remains under investigation.
