Fatal Fort Worth, Texas wrong-way crash death of Fructoso Cielo Tlatenchi – Obituary

Fructoso Cielo Tlatenchi, 63, was killed early Saturday morning in a wrong-way collision on Interstate 35W in Fort Worth, Texas, authorities confirmed. The crash also claimed the life of 44-year-old Saul Carlos Flores.

Fort Worth police reported that the incident occurred around 2:08 a.m. at the intersection of Interstate 35W and Garden Acres Drive. Investigators said a vehicle, allegedly driven by 18-year-old Axel Perez, was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes when it collided with another car.

Tlatenchi and Flores both suffered fatal blunt force injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene around 2:16 a.m., according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Perez was arrested at 4:37 a.m. and booked into the Tarrant County Jail on charges of intoxicated manslaughter with a vehicle. No bail amount had been set as of Tuesday afternoon.

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
